One day after a major fire at a pig farm in Alt Tellin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania destroyed several sheds at the facility. t is not yet clear how many of the 10,000 sows and 50,000 piglets kept at the facility were killed or injured by the fire or what caused it.
Animal rights and environmental activists as well as people from the district held a memorial protest in the evening demonstrating their anger and demanding an end to factory farming.
