School Kids Launch Peace Dove Banner on Hot Air Balloon, Germany - News Access
Together with more than 200 children and young people, Greenpeace and Students for Future launched a 4-by-4-meter banner with a peace dove on a hot air balloon near the geographic center of Germany in Oberdorla. Printed on it are photos of peace signs made from handprints that pupils at 55 schools have produced. The balloon takes off with the dove banner from the schoolyard of Vogtei Elementary School in Oberdorla. Afterwards, the school children and young people from Greenpeace youth groups gather to form a large peace sign.
The "Act for Peace" campaign is intended to send a signal of hope and solidarity with young people who are suffering from the war in Ukraine.
The action is part of Greenpeace's peace campaign, which also offers children and young people an opportunity to become active against war.
