Thousands of people form a huge peace sign to protest against the invasion of Ukraine and to express their compassion for the innocent victims of the war in Budapest’s Heroes’ Square. The demonstration has been organised by Greenpeace Hungary.
During the event, 12-year-old Patrizia, a Ukrainian living in Hungary, and Natasa, a filmmaker of Russian origin spoke to the crowd. Actress Dorottya Udvaros and János Bálint Mező, director of Greenpeace Hungary also stepped on stage to speak about Greenpeace’s demand for peace. Csíkszerda choir performed the canon Dona Nobis Pacem (Give us peace), involving the whole crowd in their singing.
