"Dirtiest Advertisement Award 2022" in the Netherlands
Diederick van den Ende, Greenpeace Netherlands campaigner and activist, congratulates Shell with their award.
The winner of the "Dirtiest Advertisement Award" (Vieze Verkiezing) was awarded on 8 February 2022. 'Together we plant trees' by Shell and Staatsbosbeheer has been chosen as the most brutal fossil advertisement. Greenpeace Netherlands activists visited Staatsbosbeheer to plant a tree and then pour environmentally friendly oil over it. The activists also went to the headquarters of the PR agency behind the campaign, Edelman Agency, and the headquarters of Shell.

De reclamecampagne ‘Samen planten we bomen’ van Shell en Staatsbosbeheer is gekozen tot de meest brutale fossiele reclame en daarmee de winnaar van eerste Vieze Verkiezing van Greenpeace. De Vieze Verkiezing is onderdeel van een fossielvrije revolutie, die Greenpeace met een brede beweging aanjaagt.
