March in Mar del Plata against Offshore Oil Exploration Part 1
Multitudinous marches took place in Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata and other cities on the Atlantic Coast in rejection of offshore oil exploration in the Argentine Sea. On December 30, the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development of Argentina approved the request of the Equinor to carry out seismic exploration in its blocks CAN 100, 108 and 114 of the Argentine North basin, off the southern coast of the province of Buenos Aires. According to the Greenpeace, seismic exploration is the first step for oil exploitation in the Argentine Sea.
