Russian Activists Organize an Online Video Conference Protest
While being locked down during the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, Russian activists organize a protest on video conference with the Zoom platform, against uranium enrichment waste imported from Germany.
From May 6 till May 14 2020 the ship "Mikhail Dudin" traveled from the seaport of Amsterdam to the seaport of Ust-Luga (Leningradski region) with another batch of uranium enrichment waste imported from Germany. The Urenco company has arranged the transfer of uranium waste to Russia, because it doesn't want to be responsible for its storage in Germany. During the online protest, each participating activist opened their own piece of banner, that combined together formed a complete message on screen reading in Russian “Нет урановым хвостам!” (No to uranium tails!) and a second one in German language "Urenco: behaltet Euren Atommüll in Deutschland!“ (Urenco: keep your nuclear waste in Germany).
