On 18 May 2020, once again the Riau Province Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) evacuated a dead young male Sumatran tiger in a timber plantation concession area owned by PT Arara Abadi, a subsidiary of Asia Pulp and Paper Sinar Mas Group in West Minas village, Riau Province. The BKSDA stated that the young male tiger was entangled in a snare and died several days before the BKSDA received a report on 18 May 2020.
