Greenpeace Activists Deliver Giant Paper Plane Aviation Bailout Letter in London
A small team of Greenpeace UK activists deliver a letter to the Chancellor, signed by 167,000 members of the public, to the Treasury on Horse Guards Road in Westminster, calling for airline bailouts to have conditions attached. The letter in form of giant paper planes is asking that airline bailouts must support a just and green recovery. They ask that any support packages for airline companies must set conditions to protect workers’ rights, prevent public money from being diverted into the pockets of shareholders, and reorientate the industry towards helping to meet the Paris climate agreement.
