Mining in the Yanomami Indigenous Land in Brazil
Greenpeace Brazil flew over Roraima state, in May 2020, and registered the invasion of miners in the Yanomami Indigenous Land. Deforestation in Indigenous Lands has increased 64% in the first four months of 2020, considering the same period of 2019. For being inside or moving through these lands, miners, loggers and trespassers are likely carriers of Covid-19 and could infect Indigenous People.
