French Government's "Climate and Resilience Law" Protest in Paris
Activists from several organizations are in front of the Palais Bourbon in Paris to denounce the glaring lack of ambition of the “Climate and Resilience law” definitively voted in the National Assembly.
The law, initiated by Emmanuel Macron and his government, will not allow France to respect the trajectory of reduction of 40% of greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, as recalled by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council, the High Council for the Climate and the National Council for Ecological Transition.
The organizations - Friends of the Earth, Extinction Rébellion, Greenpeace France, Notre Affaire à Tous, the Climate Action Network, United for Climate and Biodiversity, Youth for Climate - deployed a banner reading “A lost five-year term for the climate”.
