Submersible Operations in the Bering Sea
A two-seater submersible craft, on loan from the Waitt Institute, is launched from the MY Esperanza. The submersible will explore the deep sea canyons of the Bering Sea near Alaska. The Greenpeace ship Esperanza is on an Arctic expedition to study unexplored ocean habitats threatened by offshore oil drilling, as well as industrial fishing fleets.
