Greenpeace Brazil activists stage the ceremony and deliver the 2021 Golden Chainsaw Award to Arthur Lira, President of Brazil's lower house. While participants dressed for the occasion walked on the red carpet, a man dressed as Lira received the award.
In his six months in term, playing strictly according to Bolsonaro's government environment destruction plan, Lira approved bills that promote deforestation, fire and violence against Indigenous and countryside People, besides aggravating the climate emergency. That is why Lira is worthy of receiving the 2021 Golden Chainsaw Award.
