Kyoto Protocol Demonstration at Grosvenor Hotel in London (Compilation from Rushes)
On the day that the Kyoto treaty came into force, the international oil industry's most prestigious annual gathering was disrupted by Greenpeace activists who blockaded the event at London's Grosvenor House Hotel. The function played host to middle-eastern energy ministers and the heads of some of the world's most powerful companies who gathered at the Park Lane venue to hear an address from Esso CEO Lee Raymond - the man who led efforts to wreck Kyoto.
Tape features dinner guests stepping through crowd of activists sitting in front of hotel entrance, activists and police blocking hotel entrance, activists sounding foghorns and banner reading 'Climate Change Kills Oil Industry Parties' being unfurled on front of hotel.
