Russell Leaper, a whale scientist from the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) onboard the Esperanza. He has been tasked with sorting out the hydrophone, a high-powered underwater microphone that can be configured to pick up sounds across a wide range of frequencies far above and below the range of human hearing. Greenpeace is in the Azores with a team of scientists to survey and document deep sea life.
