Greenpeace activists marched to the Czech Parliament from the Vltava river, Prague carrying a huge inflatable whale. They called on Czech Parliament to back membership of this landlocked country in the international whaling commission in order to join the pro-conservation camp. The Czech Parliament has recently been heavily lobbied by pro-whaling Japanese delegates and may have bowed to pressure resulting in a possibility of the Czech Republic not joining the IWC this year.
