Save Our Oceans India Tour
Mating Olive Ridley Turtles off the National Park at Bhitarkanika, Orissa, India. Greenpeace Save Our Oceans tour aims to raise the profile of the marine eco-system, fragile habitats and endangered creatures of the world's oceans. The construction of a new port at Dhmara, coastal development, unsustainable fishing practises and illegal trade are taking their toll on the turtle population. Gahrimatha situated in Orissa is the last nesting ground where the turtles mass nesting or 'arribada' still occurs consistently.
