Crew on Phyllis Cormack
From the deck of the Phyllis Cormack, the Greenpeace crew plays music to the crew of the Soviet ships. Mel Gregory and Will Jackson sing into the microphones; Bob Hunter in a wet-suit stands nearby; Greenpeace had set up a sound system to broadcast to the Soviet whalers. The Russian crew lined the decks of the ships to listen to the music. North Pacific, Mendocino ridge, 50 miles west of the California coast.
