Collecting Samples near Fukushima
With the Greenpeace ship, Rainbow Warrior, approaching waters off of Tokyo, the Japanese Government has refused to grant Greenpeace permission to carry out crucial independent radiation monitoring within the country's 12 mile territorial waters, approving only a much more limited programme further out to sea. Crew from the Greenpeace ship Rainbow Warrior, including radiation safety advisor Jacob Namminga, collect sea water and seaweed samples to monitor radiation contamination levels as the Greenpeace ship sails up the eastern coast of Japan, in the vicinity of Fukushima.
