Radioactive Waste in Iraq
Shots of yellowcake canister abandoned on a road and of campaigners taking samples from it. A Greenpeace team composed of campaigners and radiation experts visited Iraq after the war in June 2003. The team has taken samples of soil and water at the Tuwaitha Nuclear Research Facility (18 km from Baghdad) to investigate nuclear contamination as local people have broken into the facility and taken contaminated barrels and containers to store food and water.
