Polar Pioneer, a 400-foot-tall rig owned by Transocean and leased by Royal Dutch Shell, rests on the anchored Blue Marlin cargo lift ship in Port Angeles, Washington. The rig, coming from Asia, will be staged in Seattle before heading to the Arctic waters off Alaska if Shell has its way.
