French commandos storm the MV Greenpeace in international waters, outside the exclusion zone around Moruroa, following actions carried out by the Rainbow Warrior and inflatables to disrupt an imminent French nuclear test on the atoll. Master of the MV Greenpeace Peter Schwarz, on the bridge, protects himself from possible use of tear gas by the commandos. Communications with the MV Greenpeace were severed during the storming.
