Bottom Trawler Tour 2005
Greenpeace crew catch Red Fish (Sebastes Marinus) in a net that are left behind from the Santa Cristina fishing trawler. (This is not indicative of the amount of fish left behind).
Greenpeace has been documenting and protesting the high seas bottom trawl fleets in the NW Atlantic.
Greenpeace is calling on governments to put in place a UN moratorium on highseas bottom trawling because it is an unsustainable fishing technique that has destructive impacts on the marine ecosystems and poses serious threats to deep sea fish species.
