Inflatable Boat on MY Arctic Sunrise in Spain
Greenpeace International rejects claims that an activist, an Italian woman aged 21, suffered injuries as result of being hit by the propeller of a Greenpeace boat during a protest, on 15 November 2014, against the Repsol oil company's plans to drill off the coast of the Canary Islands, Spain. The activist was on board the boat shown in the photo. It is driven by water jet and is not equipped with a propeller. The activist was thrown into the water and injured when two fast inflatables of the Spanish Navy intercepted - and one mounted the stern of - the Greenpeace boat. Two other Greenpeace inflatables, both propeller-driven, were involved in the protest. Video footage shows that neither of these Greenpeace boats was involved in the collision between the Spanish Navy boats and Greenpeace's water jet-powered boat.
