‘Two Months of Injustice’ Global Day of Solidarity in the Hague
30 Greenpeace activists, representing the 'Arctic 30', pass by the Shell Headquarters, the Peace Palace and government buildings during a demonstration in the Hague. They lead along a miniature GM counter as a symbol for drilling in the Arctic. At events across the world, thousands of people take part in a day of solidarity to mark two months since the Arctic 30 were detained following a peaceful protest against Arctic oil drilling. A Russian court has charged the Arctic 30 (twenty-eight Greenpeace International activists, as well as a freelance videographer and photographer) with both piracy and hooliganism. At this picture the group is passing the Shell headoffice.
