Kamal Kishore Prasadis in Dharnai Village in India
Kamal Kishore Prasadis, Village Electricity Committee (VEC) chairman of Bishunpur Tolla, Dharnai village. His leadership has encouraged others in Dharnai to embrace change and work towards a brighter future. It was his foresight two years ago that enabled him to realize the potential of a decentralized renewable energy electrification project that would change the fate of his village for better. Greenpeace India and partners BASIX and CEED have developed a first-of-its kind in India 100 kW solar micro-grid that supplies around-the-clock electricity to more than 2,400 residents, 450 homes, and 50 commercial operations, including two schools and a health care facility.
