Coastal Development in Spain
During the last decade Greenpeace has worked on a thorough analysis and has published reports on the development of the 8.000 km of Spanish coastlines (10.000 km including estuaries and marshes). The tenth edition of the report, titled “Destrucción a toda costa 2010” (Destruction at all costs), includes a collection of images taken exactly at the same geographic locations of antique postcards collected by Greenpeace; the comparison between old and recent images shows clearly the destruction of the coastlines. Greenpeace and many other environmental groups who have repeatedly denounced the destructive coastal overdevelopment, have been often accused of trying to stop the growth and progress of the country.
