Climate Action on New Coal Mines in Australia
A child holds a sign reading "Coal is a dead end" after taking part in a human banner to save Anvill Hill from new coal mines. Around 400 people from all over NSW gathered at the site and form a huge human sign reading “Save Anvil Hill” to show their concern about the local environmental and climate change impacts caused by new coal mines. Anvil Hill, one of many proposed for the Hunter Valley, will produce an extra 27 million tonnes of the greenhouse gas carbon dioxide each year – equal to four million more cars on NSW’s roads.
