Transshipping - Defending Our Oceans (Mediterranean Sea: 2007)
Greenpeace activists on board inflatable boats witness a transshipping operation of bluefin tuna in the Mediterranean Sea, 70 miles north of Libya.
The Rainbow Warrior is in the Mediterranean for a three month expedition "Defending Our Mediterranean". Greenpeace call on the countries of the Mediterranean to protect bluefin tuna with marine reserves in their breeding and feeding areas. This would be part of a global network of marine reserves across 40% of the world's oceans that are needed to give the oceans a chance to recover from decades of large-scale industrial exploitation.
