Toxic Sludge Damage in Hungary
A Greenpeace activist stands in the remains of a destroyed house in Kolontár. The toxic sludge is still stuck to everything. The evacuated part of Kolontár is now open for citizens to move back to their houses, but the cleaning process is still not finished. The toxic sludge flood occurred on the 4th October and it was caused by the rupture of a red sludge reservoir at an alumina plant.
