Nuclear Action at Construction Site of Proposed Water Reactor in France
On the anniversary of the Chernobyl disaster, 30 Greenpeace activists from six European nations halt construction at the site of the Électricité de France’s (EDF) proposed new European Pressurized Water Reactor (EPR). Activists block the entrance to the site with trucks and occupy cranes and other construction equipment, demanding an immediate end to construction at both Flamanville in France and Europe's other EPR site at Olkiluoto, Finland, calling the plants dangerous, unnecessary and uneconomic.
