Community Camp for Kampar Protection
Children walk across a giant banner in the re-opening of the Community Camp for Peatland Forest at Kampar Peninsula Forest, Pelalawan District, Riau Province. Greenpeace, Jikalahari and community of Teluk Meranti have rebuilt the camp, formerly known as the Climate Defenders Camp, after it was damaged by fire by arsonists. The new camp will serve as protection and restoration of the rich carbon peatland forest of Kampar Peninsula that is vulnerable to deforestation by forest clearance companies.
