Burning Oil from Oil Rig Disaster in the Gulf of Mexico
The Q4000 multi-purpose oil field intervention vessel, burns off material from the Deepwater Horizon wellhead near the disaster site in the Gulf of Mexico. A support ship sprays water on the pipe from the Q4000 as flames shoot out. The BP leased oil Deepwater Horizon platform exploded on April 20 and sank after burning.
