Action against Sweden’s Coal Power Stations
Greenpeace activists dressed as Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt protest against the Swedish coal power stations. Actions are taking place simultaneously outside the offices of the state-owned energy company Vattenfall in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmo. Over the past nine years, Vattenfall has acquired twelve large coal plants across Europe and has gone from near zero in emissions of almost 100 million tonnes of carbon dioxide a year which is twice as much as the whole of Sweden as a country emits.
