Anti-Coal Workshops in Indonesia
Waruduwur Village, Cirebon, West Java, approximately 297 km east of Jakarta. Villagers are visibly upset and protest the sudden appearance of anti-riot police at a press conference being held by the local community to lodge complaints about the negative effects of a coal-fired power plant setting up here. Renewable Energy (RE) & Climate Change experts from different countries in Asia, including Greenpeace staff, who assisted in a workshop on RE and were part of the audience during the presscon, were detained by local police allegedly for visa violations that are yet to be determined as of press time.
