Football Fans in Jericho
A football fan blows a vuvuzela (stadium horn) at the Jericho community center during the World Cup final match viewing. The Jericho project, a solar powered public viewing area for the World Cup, was initiated by Greenpeace Africa, marrying entertainment with education and proving how solar power has to be the solution for South Africa's energy crisis.

Greenpeace Africa celebrates the first ever World Cup to be played on African soil with a solar powered public viewing area. Residents of Jericho were able to watch the final football match between Netherlands and Spain at a venue all powered by solar energy, thanks to an initiative by Greenpeace Africa.
