ROV on MY Esperanza
Cameraman and underwater natural history specialist Gavin Newman talks to ice pilot Arne Sørensen, on the deck of the MY Esperanza next to the ROV (Remote Operated Vehicle). The machine contains a High Definition camera and for this trip will record the life on the sea bed of the Arctic Ocean, in fine detail. As climate change causes the Arctic sea ice to recede, Greenpeace has sailed north of Svalbard, to survey the poorly understood Arctic Ocean seabed and to observe and record on the surface the diverse wildlife that has adapted to survive in this unique and harsh environment.
