'Tokyo Two' Trial Appeal Hearing
Junichi Sato - Executive Director of Greenpeace Japan, enters the High Court past a banner which reads in Japanese 'We can not concede our right to know', at the appeal hearing for the 'Tokyo Two' case. Sato and colleague Toru Suzuki are fighting an appeal against their 2010 conviction for "theft and trespass", after intercepting a box of whale meat embezzled from Japan's tax-payer funded whaling program, and used it to expose corruption. The activists have long maintained their innocence as they were working in the public good and their actions were protected under international freedom of expression law.
