Tannery Water Discharge in Philippines
Chemical filled water is discharged from a tannery and into the Meycauyan river as workers gather animal skins inside a tanning facility located in Meycauayan City. The tanning industry is one of the biggest employers in Bulacan Province. The Marilao River System, also in Bulacan has been named as one of the 30 most polluted rivers in the world by the Blacksmith Institute Report.
