MY Esperanza in the Arctic
The Esperanza continues it's go beyond oil campaign off the shores of Greenland and monitors Cairn's activities. The banner on the ship reads 'go beyond oil'. This iceberg has drifted within the recommended safety zone of 25kms and is within 8km of the Stena Forth Drilling Ship. Cairn Energy's logistics operation around the 'iceberg alley' drill sites involves 8 ships that are constantly towing and melting icebergs by hosing them to prevent any damage to the platforms.
