Occupation of Palm Kernel Tanker in NZ
Greenpeace activist Drew Hahn is removed from the anchor chain of the MV Great Motion by police. He holds banners reading ‘Fonterra Climate Crime.’ Other activists have occupied the ship's crane. The MV Great Motion has 10,000 tonnes of palm kernel on board. Greenpeace is calling for the Government to put a stop to Fonterra’s expanding use of palm kernel (also known as palm kernel expeller), which is typically grown on land cleared of rainforest.
