Turbines spin in a wind farm in the Coachella Valley near Palm Springs, The San Gorgonio Pass Wind Farm is located on the eastern slope of the pass in Riverside County, just east of White Water. Developed beginning in the 1980s, the San Gorgonio Pass is one of the windiest places in Southern California. The project has more than 4,000 individual turbines and powers Palm Springs and the rest of the desert valley.
