People Living at Samrong Canal
A man throws a fishing net into Samrong canal. The canal provides not only food for families but also an income earnt from excess amount of fish being caught for consumption.
Samrong canal in the Samut Prakan province is connected to the lower part of the Chao Phraya river. The upper part of the canal is home for thousands of families who uses the water for their livelihoods, such as fishery, aquaculture, agriculture, transportation, and daily domestic use such as cleaning and washing. The water quality deteriorates as it travels downstream.
