Wien/Galtür – Heute Sonntag starteten sechs internationale Greenpeace – Aktivisten zu einer sechstägigen Protestaktion auf den Piz Buin (3312m). Die Aktivisten, die die sechs Kontinente verkörpern, planen bis zum Ende der Weltklimakonferenz in Buenos Aires auf die dramatischen Auswirkungen des globalen Klimawandels aufmerksam zu machen. Diese Auswirkungen zeigen sich auch massiv in den heimischen Alpen. Vom Piz Buin wird Greenpeace eine Botschaft an die Verwandler bei der Klimakonferenz in Buenos Aires richten: „SOS Gletscher – Klimaschutz jetzt!“ „Stop climate change!“. Die Umweltschützer aus der Schweiz, Deutschland, der Slowakei und Österreich fordern konkrete Fortschritte in der internationalen Klimaschutzpolitik. Nur durch eine rasche Reduktion der Treibhausgasemissionen ist der globale Klimawandel zu stoppen.

Vienna/Galtuer – Six Greenpeace activists have begun a six day protest action on the Piz Buin glacier in the Austrian Alps (3312 meters) to draw attention to the dramatic consequences of global climate change. From the top of Piz Buin they will hang a banner with the warning. “SOS Glacier –Stop Climate Change!” The environmentalists from Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia and Austria are demanding concrete progress at the international climate negotiations in Buenos Aires. Only a fast reduction of greenhouse gas emissions will stop global climate change.
