Oil leaked from the Deepwater Horizon wellhead reached the shore in South Pass, Louisiana (USA). The BP leased oil platform exploded on April 20 and sank after burning, leaking an estimate of more than 210,000 gallons of crude oil per day from the broken pipeline into the sea.
