Shrimp Fishermen in Louisiana
Employees of D&C Seafood unload what they expect to be the last of the shrimp catch at their facilities in Venice. The shrimp fleet is in port waiting to see if they are allowed to return to fishing following the Deepwater Horizon oil platform disaster. The BP leased oil platform exploded on April 20 and sank after burning, leaking record amounts of crude oil from the broken pipeline into the sea, threatening wildlife and the seafood industry in the Gulf.
