Radiation Affected Villages in Chelyabinsk
These images have been taken in the region of Chelyabinsk, which is located near the Mayak nuclear reprocessing complex. Different nuclear power plant providers in Europe, like AXPO in Switzerland or AREVA in France, are provided by reprocessed nuclear fuel coming from Mayak. The nuclear complex around Mayak is one of the most radioactive wasted landscapes in the world and is closed for journalists or international investigation.
