In Helsinki's harbour area, a group of demonstrators with canoes, kayaks and a sailing boat joined the demonstration against the ice breakers owned by Finnish state owned company Arctia Shipping. The ice breakers are contracted to join Shell’s Arctic drilling fleet north of Alaska this year.

Elsewhere, more than 800 people marched through the city centre of Helsinki protesting against Shell’s Arctic oil drilling.
