Coal Banner at Oldest Coal Power Station in Germany
One hundred Greenpeace activists demonstrate against the climate damaging coal policy of the German government. Environmental activists from Germany, Sweden and Czech Republic display a banner at the 80 metres high chimney of lignite power plant Deuben, the oldest coal fired power plant in Germany, that dates back to 1936. The coal power plant is run by MIBRAG, a daughter of the Czech EPH company. The activists also protest with banners at the staircases of the chimney and in front of the power plant and a symbolic cork is placed on the top of the chimney.
