Action on Ministry of Environment in Warsaw for Białowieża Forest
Greenpeace activists, in the name of all Białowieża Forest defenders, displayed a banner at the Ministry of Environment in Warsaw (Poland). The banner reads in Polish “Entire Bialowieza Forest should be a national park” (“Cała Puszcza parkiem narodowym”). By doing so they call for the only efficient way to save Białowieża Forest – establishing a national park on the entire territory of the forest.
Currently only 1/3 of the Białowieża Forest is protected by national park and natural reserves, despite the fact that the entire Forest is UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On the second day of the protest a concert of solidarity with activists took place.
