People Power and Solar Lights Go on in Yirca B-Roll
Solar power comes to Yirca after crowdfunding success.
The Turkish village of Yirca, recently beleaguered by harassment and land expropriation, became able to power its mosque and school with solar energy after installing solar panels. Yirca captured international attention in 2014 when its communal olive groves were razed and residents arrested in an aggressive land grab by Turkish authorities.
